Last year the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board  released the results of 6,944,368 applicants where only 973,384 passed with scores to get into Nigerian universities.

This shows that only 14% passed while 86%, representing 6,944,368 students failed woefully.

Students failing exams in Nigeria are a common occurrence. And there are many reasons why students fail exams.

Here are some of the reasons that jump up.

Poor class attendance

It important when students attend lectures it enlightens you and it also gives you a recap memory when u see such question,so a student who was absent from class n didn’t read will never have a clue of such is question.

Wrong Reading Behavior

A student that studies inefficiently will most definitely end up with bad grades. When one sleeps easily and then goes to their beds to study, that’s an arrangement for failure on the hand.

Examination fear

Fear is one of the factors that kills great people even before they notice it. Usually, examination fear is caused by the fact that; you don’t know what to expect in the examination. Another reason why people are afraid during exams is because they probably don’t want to face the consequences that comes with failing the examination.

Not Understanding the question

It may be due to class teaching that is not brilliant, or just to the fact that you are not interested in a subject.

To improve your answering skills make sure you understand the question before answering.

When the question is badly set

Sometime poor settings of question lead to fail in answering exams question. The lecturers or teachers are sometimes responsible for students failure cause bad setting of exams questions.

So these are my thoughts about why  students fail exams.

Let's have your thoughts.
