Nigerians are passing through difficult times as the cost of living continues to rise. A report by the national bureau of statistics for selected food prices for the month of March 2023 shows that common food crops are getting a hit.

And as a student that can be worrisome and concerning. Since you are given money to manage yourself in school you will need to show some level of prudence.

And improving and managing your personal finance as a student has become necessary especially with the present economy.

However, managing finance is part of being a responsible student. So here are ways to manage your finances on food especially.

Cook what you eat

Eating in the restaurant can be very expensive for you as a student. And it can only serve or sustain you for that moment of hunger. But when you cook your food, the food can sustain you for two or three days- with the same amount you will use to buy food in a restaurant.

Stay within a walking distance to school

Money for transportation keep increasing everyday so in order to save your money as a student, you need to live where you can trek to school without wasting money for transport.

Get a Roommate

Having a roommate is another way that can help you manage your finance in such a way that you both split rent , where you pay part of the rent  and your roommate pay the other, you both also add money for food stuffs.

Leaving food shopping to later in the day can also help you manage finances as a student. This is because in the evening most sellers will want to sell quick and go home and will sell in cheaper amount and some who sell perishable goods will not want to keep them so that they won't get spoiled the next day and will also sell them cheap.

So, believe me these few tip will help you manage your finance than you can imagine.

Just try it!
