HOW STUDENTS CAN EFFECTIVELY MANAGE THEIR TIME

Recently, the president of the court of Appeal in Abuja Justice Monica Dongban-Mensen had directed that the entrance gate to the court premises be locked to prevent staff who report to work late.

According to her, the psychology of time management is critical to work.

Time management does not come naturally to anyone, it must be learned, practised and mastered.

Everyone needs to learn how to manage time as time is a resource in everyday living.

As a student managing your time is a determinant of how well one will excel both in academic and in character. 

From preparing for exam, you need time to read very well to be able to come out with a good great result. To making out time to rest and for other social activities.

Here is our thought on how students can effectively manage time.

1. Stay away from distraction

The lacks of concentration is one of the biggest enemies of students. Thus, the first tip mentioned in the best guide on how to manage time effectively for students is to avoid distractions. Whenever you sit for students, writing an assignment or any other curriculum activities, try to choose an isolated place or sit by keeping your face towards a wall.

2. Assign priorities

Students need to do many things. For example, write assignments, do research work, practicals, cook and do laundry etc. For better time management, you need to identify the areas of your interest and allocate more time to it.

3. Follow a timetable

The best practices of time management for students often emphasize on a timetable. If you do not plan your day, you will end up losing your time in thinking about what to do. Thus, plan your day in advance based on your priorities and strictly follow the same.

4. Waking up early

Start your day early. Set time of when to wake up everyday so that you can plan your day. This will help you have a good start  of how well to manage your time.

5. Make out time to rest and get Enough Sleep

As a student, you need to make time to rest and have enough sleep so that you avoid mental blockade. Thus, take 7 to 9 hours of sleep daily.

Please do not oversleep or sleep less.
